Chelsea Commuter Rail Station
The new, fully accessible Chelsea Commuter Rail station is now open for service on the Newburyport/Rockport Line.
The new station provides easy transfers to the Silver Line 3 (SL3) and allows for quick trips to or from downtown Boston.

The aging Chelsea Commuter Rail station on Arlington Street was inaccessible and inconvenient for transfers to other modes. It closed permanently on Sunday, November 14, 2021.

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
