C Branch Track Upgrades July 11 - 22
Updated on July 8, 2022
As part of the Green Line Transformation, there will be a 12-day full access closure on the C Branch from Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 22.
Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Why We're Doing This Work
During this closure, we'll replace more than 1,500 feet of track and install Green Line Train Protection System (GLTPS) equipment.
This is the second of four closures that are taking place across the Green Line this year. With 12 days of full access, we'll complete upgrades that would usually require six months of weekend closures.
Construction Locations
Crews will replace track between Saint Mary’s Street and Beacon Junction, where the C and D lines come together. This work will create a safer, more dependable ride for C Branch passengers.
Service Changes July 11 - 22
During this closure, accessible shuttle buses will replace train service between Kenmore and Cleveland Circle.
- Shuttles will not stop at Brandon Hall or Kent Street station
- Shuttle service at Saint Mary’s Street station will be inbound only
- Outbound riders should use Hawes Street station instead of Saint Mary's Street station
