As part of our System-Wide Accessibility Improvements, we’re building three new accessible transfer elevators: two at Downtown Crossing, and one at Park Street.

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.

Why We're Doing This Work

Downtown Crossing is one of our busiest subway stations, and has two underground platform levels. These three elevators will simplify transfers, improving accessibility and rider experience.
