$10 Commuter Rail Weekends
Enjoy unlimited travel on the Commuter Rail for just $10.00 every weekend. Passes are valid on all lines and zones, Saturdays, Sundays and select holidays.
You can still buy zoned Commuter Rail tickets or monthly passes at regular cost for non-unlimited travel on weekends.

Purchasing a Weekend Pass
To get your weekend pass:
- Buy on the mTicket app, available from iTunes and Google Play
- Stop by the ticket windows at North, South, and Back Bay stations
- Buy on board with cash or credit
Weekend passes are not available at fare vending machines or retail sales locations.
You can buy weekend passes in advance. However, passes cannot be activated for travel until Saturday morning of the first scheduled trip or seven days before the holiday weekend for holiday passes.

Weekend passes are valid for unlimited trips on the Commuter Rail starting with the first scheduled trip on Saturday morning and ending with the last scheduled trip on Sunday evening.
Once you activate an mTicket, it can be reactivated for every Commuter Rail trip you take until the weekend is over. Tickets are only valid for one weekend.
Please note, children age 11 and under ride the MBTA for free. Groups including 10 or more children (regardless of the number of chaperones), must register their travel using the field trip form.
Passes are not valid for:
- Special event trains to Foxboro/Gillette Stadium
- CapeFLYER service
$10 Holiday Passes
You can buy $10 Commuter Rail tickets on select holidays. There will be two types of discounted holiday passes:
- $10 Holiday Weekend Pass: For holidays that fall on a Monday or a Friday, including Thanksgiving Day which falls on a Thursday. Available to buy on the Monday before each holiday weekend until the end of the holiday weekend.
- $10 Holiday Pass: For holidays that don’t coincide with weekends, such as July 4th. Available to buy seven days before the holiday until the end of the holiday.
You can buy holiday passes on the mTicket app, on board trains, and at station ticket windows. When buying, the holiday pass will appear with the coinciding holiday name. Standard $10 weekend passes will still be available to buy.
When can I use a $10 holiday pass?

- Columbus Day/ Indigenous Peoples' Day Holiday Weekend Pass
- Unlimited travel Saturday October 12 - Monday October 14
- Veterans Day Holiday Weekend Pass
- Unlimited travel Saturday November 9 - Monday November 11
- Thanksgiving Day & Black Friday Holiday Weekend Pass
- Unlimited travel Thursday November 28 - Sunday December 1
- Christmas Day Holiday Pass
- Unlimited travel Wednesday only
