Public Hearing | MBTA Proposed Fare Changes (Virtual)

Event Description

We’re proposing an expansion of reduced fares eligibility to riders with low income and other changes to our fares.

Other proposed changes include:

• Replacing change tickets with CharlieCards on buses and the Green and Mattapan lines
• Permanent $10 Holiday Weekend Passes

If approved, these changes will go into effect in spring 2024. 

During this hearing, MBTA staff will record public comment during a period of rider comments and questions. All participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed fare changes.
