Public Meeting | Codman Yard Expansion and Improvements Pre-Construction (Virtual)

Event Description

As a part of the MBTA’s Capital Programs, please join the Capital Transformation team to learn about the Codman Yard Expansion and Improvements project. Mobilization for construction is scheduled to begin in November 2022.

The improvements made at Codman Yard will increase the yards storage capacity and improve the quality of service, reliability, and safety of the Red Line. These upgrades will also allow crew members to move trains through the yard more efficiently and store additional vehicles as the fleet expands.

The project features:

• Building six new storage tracks to accommodate the new Red Line fleet
• Upgrading LED lighting, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and other safety/security features
• Upgrading track, power, and signals within the yard and the crossover approaching Codman (South of Ashmont Station)
